Yeah, I totally agree. ITV's production of Mansfield Park was AWFUL and Billie Piper was miscast. I cringed at every moment.

The BBC tends to be better at period dramas and the like. Very Happy

Do not grieve Very Happy I too am the teenager who sits at home reading on a Friday night. Laughing

Have you seen Lost in Austen? It's a bit silly, Laughing , haha.

Yeah I know ! I do live in the UK, and when I saw it advertised on the TV I got so excited I started bouncing up and down on the sofa (this followed with a swift reprimanding from my parents. I am obviously a misunderstood teenager.) Wink

I am now officially a senior writer. Do I really deserve this title, since I have under 20 reviews?
    [actually, don't answer that one....]

    Hey,

Nah I didn't like the Alfred Hitchcock one either, it destroyed a lot of the atmosphere created in the book. I've seen another film version which I quite liked but to be honest, it's a book that can't really be re-created in film, unless the director is some outstanding genius or something.

Yep I sure have read Frenchman's Creek. I love the setting - I've been to Cornwall several times and it's really nice over there. Ah, it was so romantic Very Happy

Oh, I see you like Tess of the d'ubervilles. I have read the book and recently seen the old version of the film. It was amazing and probably one of the saddest things I've ever read, though I do crave sad books, for some strange reason.

So what is your favourite book then, seeing as Rebecca is your 'almost favourite book'.

    Ahwrh, you're too modest.
Wow!! *jumps up and down retardedly clapping hands* You like the book Rebecca? I absolutely adore it! Have you seen the film? Daphne du Maurier is pretty amazing (:
Ha, in case you're wondering why I'm creating such a palaver, it's because I rarely find a teenager who likes that book (:
