This contest is going to help you learn to write in a different style. I have written an example of this contest already. Here's what to do, the rules, prizes, deadlines and such.

YOUR OBJECTIVE

You have to write a story using only letters, messages, notes, texts and ect. You absolutely cannot use dialog. As in speaking. In the example I have up there, I have a man talking into a voice message. Like this:

Holly: Hi. This is Holly Forester. Sorry, I can’t come to the phone right now. Please leave your name, number, and a short message and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. Percy: Holly… pick up the phone. Please… where are you? Please, please, please call me back when you get this message. I’ve tried calling your cell six times. You won’t answer. Please. Pick up the phone. Please. Holly… Where are you? I need you. I need you back home. Please come home. Where are you? Where are –

This is acceptable. What I'm trying to get out is that you can't have two characters talking directly to each other. Take for instance, a phone call. Two characters cannot directly talk to each other. You may use an sort of message you can think of. Just be creative.

RULES

1) You may not use dialog (as stated above)

2) You must include at least one email in your post. For an example of how to set one up, please click on the example above.

3) Have a whole bunch of fun. The possibilities are endless.

PRIZES

1st place will receive 5 critiques, or 250 points (the equivalent of 5 critiques).

2nd place will receive 3 critiques, or 150 points (the equivalent of 3 critiques).

3rd place will receive 1 critique, or 50 points (the equivalent of 1 critique).

If more than 3 people will enter, there will be an Honorable Mention.

If you enter, also, you will receive a critique from me on the piece you enter.
