I was just wondering how many of you have live journals.

If you don't, why not?

If you do, why do you?

I, personally, happen to think that live journals are really, really...dumb.

Bash and flame all you want, that's my opinion.

What is so appealing about divulging your life onto the internet, where anyone, anywhere, at anytime can read it?

This may come from the fact that I know a couple of people whose livejournals have gotten them in trouble with friends, parents, acquaintances, strangers, whoever. I've just seen a lot of negativity going on in online diaries.

I'm extremely curious as to their appeal.

I wouldn't ever use one. I know a friend that got in a ton of trouble for posting on one. She was venting about riding and this one lady, the lady found it, left the barn, and the girl got grounded for a month, and can't be training with that trainer, or showing for a long time. And she's a really nice girl, its not the journal that made the lady leave, she was already leavin', but then blamed it on her.

I don't really care about 'em. I signed up for a blog here, but only posted twice.

I have a blog on here, and post on it pretty regularly. I also have one on Writing.com.

Ahahah. I love my livejournal. It's friends-only, so posting in it is like sending one big e-mail to all of my friends about what's going on in my life. I've grown really close to a lot of people through live journal--and (this sounds really cliche, but) I feel like I can always go to my lj when I'm angry or depressed, and my friends will always respond with encouragement. It's nice.

I dunno. I've come to find that I like communicating through lj (as opposed to IMs) because I have time to sit down and think about the things I want to say, rather than spontaneously blurt out the first thing that comes to mind. Plus, you can always look back on the things set in writing and see how you've grown.
i thought you were shallow, but then i fell in deep.

I love journals, so having one online is even better than writing, since I can type so much faster than I can write. I've got a xanga and if I don't want anybody to read what I've written then I'll write on my blog on this site. I dunno...they're just fun...you can comment on other people's xangas and add music and pictures and all that jazk.

I have a friends-only LJ. It's my OOMA (Object of my Affection) journal. Only two persons have access besides myself... and they're OOMA's.

Which reminds me I haven't updated it in a while...

But, yes, they're grand. I do prefer my diaryland diary, though. Many more templates available.

I think LJ's fun. It's definately something to keep you entertained if you've got nothing better o do. Plus, It's somewhere to vent if you need to...and talk to me freind Keren, who seems to have forgotten about AIM...(hehe, the asylum is the best community ever!!!)

I like my blog even though I have not updated in a long time. But I enjoy writing in my journal because I can get my feelings out because I really don't have someone to talk to about some stuff going on in my life.

I like my blog here. Mostly, because everyone at my school has probably never even thought to look for a site such as this. Secondly, if you keep a real journal, there's always that risk that your parents or someone could find it and...

So, there you have it. Why I love my blog. ;D

Me to. But my parents never look in my journal because I told them not to plus I keep it in my backpack so she never goes in there.

Yeah, I wish I'd been so lucky...my dad totally respects my privacy and won't even touch my journals, but my mom is a different story...one time she snatched my journal out of my backpack, copied stuff out of it and used it in court when she was trying to get custody of me and my sisters....I had never been so mad at someone in my life.

:o

That's crazy!

My dad used to look at my cousin's live journal (when he was living with us.) But of course, he was doing some pretty dangerous stuff. I guess it was more out of concern than anything.
