These are general layouts for the novels, kind of like what they put on the backs of books.. The titles are still working titles (except for the first).
Book 1: The Magician's Secret
On his 18th birthday, Sam Collins learns that he is a Warlock and was inadvertantly signed in to become part of a league of evil Warlocks and Witches called The Differents. Now, he's been sent to spy on The Differents. He soon finds a chest containing the ancient item "The Magician's Secret". Sam learns of The Differnts' plan and rallies it back to The Order (the group that sent him) with the help of a new friend, Darcy. Ember follows Sam and Darcy and a battle ensues between The Order and Ember. Meanwhile, Sam unlocks the chest and solves the mystery of The Magician's Secret. Sam goes home, after he wards off Ember and sends him back to The Differents' Headquarters, only to find his mother dead, his father gone, and Ember's symbol painted on the wall in his mother's blood. Sam returns to The Order, vowing to get his father back, and kill Ember.
Book 2: The Rune Talker
Sam, Aaron, Luna, Darcy, Quicksilver, and the rest of The Order have left headquarters to find The Differents' new lair. Luna decides to tell Sam about the prophecy which concerns the fate of Mortality. Sam has been brought here to either save the mortals from darkness and death, or to destroy the mortals via darkness and death. The Order decides that they must find the legendary Rune Talker, so that Sam can learn to read the Celestial Runes that the final half of the prophecy was written in. They figure out that they must travel into the heart of London's Eye, which will transport them to a magically hidden room in Big Ben. The Order flies across the ocean and, in the dead of night, they go into London's Eye. They find the Rune Talker and Sam lerans to read the ancient language of the Celestial Runes. He learns that he is to save the Earth, but wether he will die in the process is not talked about in the porphecy. They head for the Himilayas, where it's been said that The Differents are hiding. On their way through the caves of the Himilayas, they run into dark creatures and learn why Demon can't return to Earth. In the meantime, Demon forces his servant to go to the Himilayas and recover the three items that will not only kill Demon, but give him the power to return to Earth. The Order is in a frantic search for The Crystal Items (consisting of a sword, a spyglass, and an orb), when they run into Chessler, Demon's servant, who has already found the items. A battle ensues and Sam, who has learned some powerful and new Celestial Rune spells, casts one of his new spells and the ground beneath Chessler gives way, but a the last moment, Chessler returns to Demon. The Order decide to continue to look for The Differents' lair, as Demon vows to return to Earth and kill Sam.
Book 3: The Vows
After a vigorous search, The Order finally finds The Differents' lair in the heart of Mnt. Everest. Demon begins his journey back to Earth with his servant, Chessler by his side. The Order begins sneaking around, trying to find more clues to their plot, and trying to find Sam's father, this takes most of the book. Meanwhile Sam and Demon are plotting how to carry out their vows. Sam begins a dark search for his father, killing any Different that gets in his way. Demon begins walking the tunnels of Mount Everest, killing all in his path. The Order, Sam, Demon, Chessler, Ember, and The Differents, all end up in Sam's Father's chamber. A battle ensues and stops abruptly when Ember points his wand at Sam's father. Sam begins to turn himself over to Demon by Ember's orders, when Sam's Father tries to stop the madness. Ember kills Sam's Father, causing Ember to want to fulfill the only half of his vow left. He kills Ember. Quicksilver decides that now is the perfect opportunity to put his master plan into action. Quicksilver takes Ember's place as leader of The Differents. He attacks Aaron for being engaged to Luna, Quicksilver's sister. The Order flees and The Differents decide to move their headquarters back to Amereica. The Order know that they need to find a new base. We leave each group in their new headquarters, plotting to end it all. Demon remains with The Differents, plotting Sam's Death.
Book 4: The Darkness Rising
Sam decides that he must end the conflict without anyone else's help. He runs in pursuit of The Differents' new lair. Aaron, Darcy, and Luna follow, chasing Sam. They head for New York City where it's been said that Demon is wreaking havoc. Sam meets up with Aaron, Darcy, and Luna. After some persuasion, Sam tells them that they can help. Meanwhile, Demon wants to break free of The Differents, especially Quicksilver. Quicksilver has become dark, ill tempered, and has begun a soul orb, like Ember. Every time Quicksilver kills, a piece of his soul goes into his soul orb. When Demon tries to escape, Chessler keeps him back, telling Demon a shocking truth, Demon is Chessler's father. Demon attempts to kill Chessler and Demon flies away, leaving Chessler wounded. That night, Chessler decides to rebel and flies off to find Sam. Chessler and Sam meet up. Chessler tells Sam of his hopes to join Sam in destroying Demon. Chessler tells Sam that he can show him where The Crystal Items are. Reluctantly, Sam agrees to let Chessler into The Order. Chessler, Sam, Luna, and Aaron find The Differnts' new lair. They try to get to Chessler's room to get The Crystal Items, but are headed off by Quicksilver and an army of Differents. A battle ensues as Chessler slips away to get the items. The battle stops abruptly when Sam is injured and Quicksilver has his wand pointed at Aaron. An epic battle ensues between Aaron and Quicksilver. Quicksilver kills Aaron and Sam is about to kill Quicksilver when The Differents disappear. Chessler returns with The Crystal Items and Sam, Darcy, Luna, and Chessler head off to find Demon to defeat evil, once and for all. That night, Darcy confesses her feelings for Sam to him, but he says that he can't watch her get killed because of him. Later in the night, Sam grabs Chessler and they head off to kill Demon.
Book 5: The Final Stand
The book picks up about a month after Sam and Chessler leave Darcy and Luna. Chessler has told Sam that Demon for the Dark Crown, which would make him ruler of Creation. The Dark Crown is said to be hidden in the lost city of Atlantis. Sam tries to get Chessler to tell him where The Differents are hiding, he wants revenge against Quicksilver. Chessler refuses to gvie Sam the location, because he knows that Demon must be defeated first. When Chessler goes off to scout ahead, Sam looks into Chessler's journal, knowing that the location would be in there. He finds that The Differents are hiding in The Order's old headquarters. Sam packs his things and leavees Chessler to return to his home and face The Differents. That evening, when Chessler returns, he believes that Sam was taken by Demon and heads for Atlantis. Darcy and Luna continue trying to find Sam and Chessler, when Darcy thinks that Sam might want to return to his home. Darcy and Luna set off for The Order's old Headquarters. Sam arrives at The Order's old home to find a series of traps set up. He disarms the traps and hurries in to The Headquarters. He begins sneeking around the hallways, killing any Different that find him. He runs into Darcy and Luna who convince him to get out. They almost make it when Quicksilver turns up at the door. A final battle ensues and all the Differents are killed. Only Quicksilver is left, Sam kills Quicksilver and, at the last moment, Quicksilver kills Luna. Distraught, Darcy and Sam run to find Chessler. Chessler has found Atlantis, when he decides to go into the underground tunnels. Chessler runs into Demon and a battle ensues between father and son. Just when Darcy and Sam show up, Demon kills Chessler. Sam tells Darcy to leave, but she won't. Darcy nearly gets killed when the final battle ensues. Sam blasts off Demon's wings and destroys him. Sam heals Darcy and the two set off to find The Dark Crown. In the deepest cahmber they encunter The Dark Crown, no traps, nothing. Sam casts the object into oblivion. Suddenly, the ghosts of all his friends appeared. Sam and Darcy learn that The Differents killed everyone in The Order. Quicksilver is there, too. Sam has the opportunity to bring back one person from the dead, he brings back Chessler, someone who died protecting him. Sam realizes that he will never see any of their faces again. Chessler decides that Sam deserves two more people revived, after all he's been through. Chessler revives Luna and Aaron. Luna, Aaron, Darcy, Sam, and Chessler leave the chamber. It is late when they rise from Atlantis. Sam tells Darcy that they can be together, now that it's all over. They kiss, and the series ends.
