22| my perfect window view
Ghazal -- I tried
There was only so much I could see from my perfect window view
All the little things in the world could be seen from my perfect window view
The little things and the beautiful cracked pieces came together
As I was gazing from my perfect window view
It was all so strange, yet I found the secret towel which showed me
All the dirt from my perfect window view
As I was looking at the dirty spots, they made me think of you
As I watched you walk by I watched you from my perfect window view
Sponging and Wiping is how I got rid of them
Yet one stayed, totally not ruining my perfect window view
As the first drops fell on the glass, I wanted to stay even more knowing you would be very slow
I could observe you even better from my perfect window view.
You carefully tiptoed through the puddles, still dirty spots came on your clothes
I giggled mischievously as I knew I was safe behind my perfect window view
Still I betrayed myself, “My beautiful darling won’t you stop for a second?”
I sang while you looked up at my perfect window view.
Noticing my plea, you decided to speed up and leave
I waved at you sadly from my perfect window view
The jacket you wear each rainy day gave me your name
I wrote it with my finger on my perfect window view
Wondering what I ever did wrong to you, I turned old
Thinking and sitting in front of my perfect window view
Holding your funny name close to my heart: “Time”
I finally left my perfect window view
