Hi there! I figured I would make a thread for 2022 NaNo first lines and even last lines once we finish.

Of course, you can also put the first/last paragraph if you want to set the scene! I hope everyone is having fun and doing well with their writing this year. ^^
name: key/string/perks
pronouns: she/her/hers and they/them/theirs

novel: the clocktower (camp nano apr 24)
poetry: the beauty of the untold (napo 2024)

The first paragraph, which is snappy and full of sass, lol.

Spoiler! :
In a way, it was almost a relief that Cyrus couldn't speak anymore. That way, he didn't have to answer any stupid questions.
Ubi caritas est vera, Deus ibi est.

"The mark of your ignorance is the depth of your belief in injustice and tragedy. What the caterpillar calls the end of the world, the Master calls the butterfly." ~ Richard Bach

As of now the first two lines are...

Spoiler! :

Naturally, it wasn’t until after I’d taken my seat at the most important town hall meeting of my life that I realized my dark wash jeans were covered in bunny fur. Occupational hazard when you run a rabbit rescue out of your home.

(blessing to hayley the bunny for this one)

shhh i technically wrote this before nano started

I actually have my last line drafted, despite the fact that I'm not even halfway through writing the rest of the book lol

First:
Spoiler! :
Melinoë always liked it when it rained. It meant she didn't have to water the zombies.

Last paragraph:
Spoiler! :
Makaria's wide, grey eyes met Melinoë's gaze with an intensity that sent shivers down the Gardener's spine. Her sister's bloodless lips parted, and for the first time in seven years since she had died, she spoke, her voice raspy with disuse but recognizable and beautifully heartwrenching all the same.
"M- Melinoë?"
this is Ace erasure and I won't stand for it— silv

I haven't really said anything about ace but that's cause I'm usually speechless with how awesome ace is— Harry

Ace, you’re aggressively loved. Accept or perish.— Wist
