I'm fairly horrific at titling stories / general works of any sort. Actually, really horrific. I'm not very good at determining what makes a fantastic title, either. I'm currently trying to come up with a title for a thing & vaguely require assistance. So I thought I'd come up with a title thread for future reference / inspiration.

I'm inviting all of you to post favourite titles of films or novels or short stories or even poems. Anything that has truly toppled you with its titular glory.

I've got:

Never Let Me Go (novel)
I've Loved You So Long (film)
There Will Be Blood (film)
In the Skin of a Lion (novel)
"He yanked himself free and fled to the kitchen where something huddled against the flooded windowpanes. It sighed and wept and tapped continually, and suddenly he was outside, staring in, the rain beating, the wind chilling him, and all the candle darkness inside lost."

The Departed is probably my favorite title for anything ever, especially with how it ultimately fits into the story. It almost gives everything away, but you'd never know it until you've actually seen the movie.

Also:

Ulysses

No Country For Old Men

Heat

The Brothers Bloom

Oldboy

The Dark Knight

Inglorious Basterds

Kill Bill

There's a million others I could list...

All the Ally Carter books!

I'd Tell You I Love You, But Then I'd Have To Kill You

Cross my Heart and Hope to Spy

Don't Judge a Girl by Her Cover

Only the Good Spy Young

#1 and #3 are also closely related to the plot of the book... 2 and 4 not so much. But they're catchy. Also, Scott Westerfeld's Uglies/Pretties/Specials have a nice theme.
"You are altogether a human being, Jane? You are certain of that?"
"I conscientiously believe so, Mr Rochester."

Donnie Darko (Alliteration! Also they get away with using a really unlikely name.)
The Rocky Horror Picture Show (See also, The Incredibal Torture Show.)
Coke Machine Glow (A book of poetry by Gord Downie of The Tragically Hip, and you know he's an amazing writer.)
A Clockwork Orange (Classically captivating.)
The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (A really old movie, and the name kind of rings that of a matured, old cult classic.)
The Bodies Presented Traces of Carnal Violence (Bluntly humorous :D)
Night of the Living Dead (Shoving simple information in your face that you maybe don't want to face...)
The remainder is, An unjustifiable, egotistical, power struggle, At the expense of the American Dream.
