PREDATOR
Grin was nervous. He – He was coming, and Grin knew it. He could see it on the faces of his fellow prisoners.
“If that freak comes near us I’m gonna blow his fricking head off!” Yelled Smiley, brandishing an M4 shotgun like a lunatic. That he was, of course.
“Not if I kill him first!” Smirked Happy, “That bastard is mine!”
“What would that freak be doing here anyway?” Interjected Grumpy
The aggressive banter eased Grin’s mind.
“He doesn’t stand a chance against us!” Grin yelled. Grin glanced up at the two sniper towers and saw Dopey and Chuckles mounting their guns on the towers – It felt reassuring to know that a marksman like Chuckles would deal with any unwanted presence that threatened them. Grin pulled his night vision goggles and surveyed the area: no threats. With his INSAS LMG machine gun cradled in one hand he felt safe. All was well – Grin was just glad that he had joined on a good day.
Suddenly, Grin heard a yell and looked up. Chuckles was giving the signal – This only meant one thing: He was here.
“Dopey is down!” Chuckles yelled at Grin, Happy and Grumpy, “The Ba-“Chuckles was cut short as a carefully thrown grenade froze him solid in a block of ice.
“What the hell! It’s not him!?” Grumpy said worriedly
“He’s frozen idiot! It must be the snowman!”
“Oh...” Grumpy was worried. He’d heard rumours of what the ice-man could do, and they were pretty horrific. Suddenly Grumpy felt a pair of hands clasp around his mouth. He attempted to wrench the hands off of him, but try as he might, he could not. A small sphere fell from the attackers hand and rolled along the floor.
A cloud of thick, murky smoke emerged from the device, alerting Grin and Happy to the now unconscious Grumpy.
“Grumpy!” Yelled Grin
“Crap man! It’s gotta be him!” Said Happy as he ran over to the unconscious body.
Neither Happy nor Grin thought to look behind them into the cloud of smoke. Grin and happy stood up. Suddenly a metallic black object flew through the air and collided with Happy’s face, sending him flying, where he collided with a wall.
“What the hell!” Yelled Grin. He pointed his gun at the smoke cloud and pulled the trigger.
Nothing happed.
“What!?”
Finally Batman emerged from the smoke. He ran towards Grin and launched a brutal flurry of melee attacks, ending with a kick to the chin.
NIGHTWING
He stood tall and straight, with a posture that resembled both a proud lion and a stealthy panther. His black hair fell in arkward straight sweeps over his forehead. A black mask covered his eyes. His suit was jet black, punctuated by a symbol of a majestic blue eagle: a symbol of justice. He wore lightning blue gloved and boots, and his belt held two blue and black rods which he used to dispense justice to those who prey on the fearful. Dick Grayson scaled the thirty-foot wall like a monkey, albeit a graceful black and blue one. He crawled along the rooftop and came up behind the guard. He drew his rods and plunged the tip of each one into the back of the guard’s knees, electrocuting and knocking him out instantly. He leapt onto the water tower that nestled on top of the building and surveyed the city. He gazed into the distance and saw his target: a glowing blue question mark. Of course it had been left purely for him, and he had every intention of getting it. Batman had told him that it was important.
He grappled up to the gargoyles sticking out of the church bell tower and leapt off. He fell and landed with a forward roll on the roof of the Gotham Casino. He walked over to the blue trophy on the floor and picked it up. A voice sounded from his communicator.
“Hey diddle diddle, time for a riddle!”
