A parody of "The Passionate Shepherd to his Love" and "The Nymph's Reply to the Shepherd" (by Christopher Marlowe and Sir Walter Raleigh respectively) - inspired by a friend's suggestion and the epic QuirrelxVoldemort pairing from Team Starkid's "A Very Potter Musical".

Professor Quirrel to his Lord

You may be just a parasite
An enemy of all things right
A child killer, foul and cruel
I’m not your friend, I’m just a tool

Yet there’s a magic to my love
Kindness will give you that last shove
And tip the scales in you to good
Then you would love me, as you should

Evil might be ingrained in you
But blackened hearts can feel love, too
Forget your madness, live your life
Revenge proves a double-edged knife

Don’t let me go for evil’s sake
My bromance offer’s yours to take
On happiness you shouldn’t bank
If you forgo me for that skank

But stay with me, and you I’ll please
Together, life will be a breeze
I’ll overlook your crazy traits
If you’ll accept a geek roommate

So think on that before you leave
Before our heads that spell will cleave
Don’t make me beg, get on all fours
I’ll say now: “Voldemort, I’m yours.”

The Dark Lord's Reply to his Minion

I’ll admit we’ve had our fun
But with this spell, our union’s done
I must return to take my place
As king; and this you too must face

For I can’t risk my rule for love
Don’t bother me with push and shove
I’ve tried too long to make this right
To slay my foe, regain my might

It’s true my heart is black as sin
And no love can exist within
For man or woman, wife or friend
My passion sworn to wicked ends

I must move on for evil’s sake
Though it may cause your heart to ache
To be happy is not my goal
But power is, so split, O soul!

I cannot stay, but you I’ll miss
Our nights of mischief, days of bliss
Yes, we are birds of a feather
(Not that we should sleep together)

So forget me and take your leave
Once our heads that spell will cleave
Just know: If I could change my course
Then yes, indeed, I would be yours
"Children see magic because they look for it."
- Christopher Moore

Hey there Orinette! I must say this is a very sweet piece of work and very well written, too. I love the Voldy & Quirrel bromance in AVPM, and I must confess that I read this with their voices in my head. Their relationship in the play was portrayed through this poem brilliantly and it really deserves to get the StarKids' attention.

The rhmyes are very clean, it helps the rhythmn stay regular and easy for the reader to follow. Your descriptions also work well with Voldy and Quirrel's personalities in AVPM - just what you'd expect them to say after their "breakup" ;D

My favourite line was:
(Not that we should sleep together)
It made me laugh out loud, because I wasn't expecting it and it was very clever, much like the rest of the poem.

To round it all up, I think this was a very well written piece and smartly written. I can see that you really thought this through; either that or you're an AVPM fan xD.

Keep writing!

Mikko.
