Gaze of madness

by fureameniken

In realms where shadows dance and wane,

A tragedy unfolds, wracked with pain.

A maiden fair, with hopes held high,

Ensnared by a knight’s deceitful lie.

They danced beneath the moon’s soft glow,

But little did she truly know,

Behind his smile, a darkness crept,

A serpent’s coil, silently kept.

As she looks upon his face,

Where she once found solace and grace,

Now she’s met with a haunting gaze,

Filled with malice, a soul ablaze.

With each passing hour, his grip grew tight,

His love a poison, a blinding light.

She pleaded, she wept, her spirit frail,

But his heart, a fortress, cold and pale.

In the depths of despair, she finds her fate,

Trapped in a web of love and hate.

Her dreams shattered, her spirit torn,

In the shadows of love, she’s left forlorn.

As she looks upon his face,

Where she once found solace and grace,

Now she’s trapped in a silent cage,

A prisoner of his twisted rage.

In the darkness, she withers and fades,

A ghost of the love that once cascades.

Her heart aches with each passing day,

As she’s consumed by love’s decay.

As she looks upon his face,

Where she once found solace and grace,

Now she’s lost in a tragic maze,

Forever haunted by love’s cruel gaze.

Hey fureameniken,

First let me say YMS is starting to change my opinion on poems. Although I'm not a fan, I have already found couple of great ones here.

I love how the only repetitive part of the poem is: Where she once found solace and grace. It's easy to notice you thought of every single word very carefully.

You kept sucking me into her world more and more with each word. I was kind of sad it ended. I wanted more :D
