Frisson

I knew it the minute
I woke up this morning.
It was just one of those days.
The kind that makes me excited for the future;
My future; our future.
A day that feels fast-forwarded,
So it seems just a minute has past
When I return to bed.

Today I don’t care
About the whispers behind my back,
The stares.
I want to sprint -
Just to feel the wind tango with my hair
And make my heart race.
Running away from
The boundaries of high school.

I feel like I am me again
And wonder why I’m not like this
All the time.
Tomorrow, I promise,
I’ll crawl back into my box.
But for now,
I’ll savor the rest of today.
The carefree race
In which I am the hare.
Days like this scare me just a little,
After the adrenaline has past.
I find myself tingling, a grin
Firmly planted on my lips.
Just like the day I fell in love with you.
Life is not about how you sing in the sun, it is about how you dance in the rain.

This was pretty cool. I LOVE days like those. I have ooone little nit-picky thing to point out, though:

Days like this scare me just a little,
After the adrenaline has past.

"Past" should be "passed".

Just a grammar issue.

My favorite part in the whole thing:
I want to sprint -
Just to feel the wind tango with my hair
And make my heart race.

Very well done, and very relatable.
Shakespearian tongue-twister:

To sit in solemn silence
In a dark, dank dock
In a pestilential prison
With a lifelong lock;
Awaiting the sensation
Of a short, sharp shock
Of a cheap, chippy chopper
On a big black block.

I know I tend to love all of your poetry, but I esspeicially liked this one. You can almost feel the sense of elation just by reading the words.

I feel like angels guided me to this poem.
That's exactly how I feel today!
I love love love loooove it, my friend
Congratulations!!
It's true that we don't know what we've got until we lose
it, but it's also true that we don't know what we've been
missing until it arrives.

I really love it! I've felt it before and yours is the best description I've ever seen! Thinking back, I feel really happy now. And you know what? I'm reading this first thing in the morning so I feel that today is gonna be one of those days. Those "frisson" days. I really like the title by the way. :) Thanks for making my day! :) Keep writing!
