Can the convenience of failure
be shaken from even you?
Look around at your world,
the one your daddy made and
tell me one thing
Who would you be
if the castle walls collapsed
and your maids were struck by lightning?
Even if you don't bite the hand that feeds you
Pray that it will always be there
Need reviews?
I'd be happy to give them.

You were struck by lighting
and everything turned a rosey-green
and you forget how to eat the lies I fed you.
They dribbled down your chin, like overripe fruits
do. Heat makes some of us leather skinned,
like oranges, others just charred.

Heat blooms up your skin,
staining your cheeks a scarlet red,
a blood red.

Tears dance down your face,
twirling with the mascara and lip gloss and eyeliner and blush and eye shadow and foundation and
the illusion of beauty

You race to the bathroom and wash off
red, blue, green, purple
colors swirl down the sink

Maybe it's Maybelline

or maybe your pathetic.
I am nothing
but a mouthful of 'sorry's, half-hearted
apologies that roll of my tongue, smoothquick, like 'r's
or maybe like pocket candy
that's just a bit too sweet.

*hopes she's doing this right*

Rain falls, splitter splatter,
Bitter on your face
Once painted brightly,
Oh so pretty,
Now does rain erase

Tears hide behind the curtain,
Sad, under the veil
Cheeks marred
With veins of black,
Beauty washed with hail

What does beauty count for then,
If nothing more than fleeting?
It's almost cruel,
The hopeless aim,
Like life itself is cheating
"Blah blah blah. You feel trapped in your life. Here is what I am hearing: happiness isn't worth any inconvenience."

His hand cups your chin gently,
and you lean up,
close your eyes
and wait.

But what comes is not expected.
An angry red hand print
embed onto your cheek.
It stings, doesn't it?

A black veil that seperates you
from your dream come true.
From your fairy-tale wedding
and happily ever after.

You thought he was going to kiss you, didn't you?
Thought he'd be Prince Charming and you, Cinderella?
But Cinderella's dead and Prince Charming was never real.

These fairy tales,
they're not true you know?
They didn't teach you that in school, did they?

No. I guess they didn't.

Fairy Tales and dreams are not the same thing.
Once there were fairy tales. And people cherished them.
Once there were fairy tales. And people told them.
Once there were fairy tales. And people sold them.
Once there were fairy tales. And people marketed them.
Once there were fairy tales. And people changed them.
Once there were fairy tales. And people forgot them.

The difference is you got older, and you can still grasp
the fairy tale in your mind, because it never didn't not
exist. Your dreams are different.

Changing goals and whispered fear
Never relinquished, but always held dear
To give them away is a fool's game to play
Yet slippery tongues bid you come, sit, and say
You trip and fall down
Into a dusty lost town
Your life's a dead end
You can no longer pretend
Advice you should have guessed
Into another mind pressed
Keep your heart from too loose
Or hang from a noose
Your dreams, don't abandon
Lest you dive in a canyon
"Blah blah blah. You feel trapped in your life. Here is what I am hearing: happiness isn't worth any inconvenience."

The Grand Canyon,
Great Wall of China,
Eiffel Tower.
All places to visit, wonder at, worship for a while,
then turn around,
go back home
and shove those memories to the back closet of your mind.

And she wished she had that chance
because she knew
she wouldn't abandon those pictures, those paintings,
throw them in a vault,
locked up for safety.

She wouldn't treat those memories like Rapunzel.
She would cherish them, relish them,
relive the moments over and over
until Cancer finally came to take her to a castle
far away,
locked up for good.
And since her long golden hair was cut off,

No Prince would ever save her.

Her fantasies enchanted her,
Beguiled her, bewildered her,
Until she gave in, and disappeared
From reality, into a world weird -

Magic and creatures abounded,
And she found herself surrounded,
By a totality of spears,
And she ran, ran with her fears.

Next came the wizard,
His mighty wand a work of art,
And she gasped and laughed in surprise
Until he conjured an army of mice.

Oh, the dragon! With his head held up so high.
She stared and stared and stared upwards nigh,
Until he looked down and bared his teeth so fine,
And asked her, "Won't you be the bride of mine?"

She ran from him, from all her fantasies,
And ended in bed, dreaming of nonsense and sillies,
She wiped a hand across her forehead, relieved,
Not noting the thief out her window, rallied.

I know that this relationship is like a dream,
unbelievable; amazing.
But hard to remember
when you wake up and return to reality.

But it's worth it to take a chance,
isn't that what Celine Dion would have wanted?
We can't stop believing,
like Journey.

Ignore my corny pop culture references.
I love you
and that should be enough.

(For now at least.)

Woah. That sucked. I'm surprised I'm not dead. The amount of fail coursing through my body right now is pretty toxic.

Tell me if you want from me more than I can give
And you'll be free to leave my life and live the life you'll want to live
I guess for things I did to you, you won't have to forgive
But that might lead to endless frustration

The killer Michael Meyers is appalled by the fumes
Of the dirtiest low-lives and the shadiest moves
He made sure he coughed coming out of the womb
After complete and careful consideration

I think this was much worse, Jasmine.

Unrequited love,
Unforseen consequences,
Unforgiven actions,
Cemented in your past

You could have changed it,
If you wanted to
But I guess you didn't,
Or we wouldn't be here
In this place

I, in my horror future,
You, not by me
Them, the million souls I lost
Drifting away from everything

I suppose you're happy,
Enchanted to say the least
This is what you wanted, right?

I cry in my sleep

Miracles happen,
But not to ones like me
Not in such dour circumstances
Not in this lifetime
Not if it'd gladden me

Thanks for it all,
The shame and the pain
And the depression that holds me
And that won't let go

Thanks for nothing,
And thanks for the dream, scheme,
Thanks for demeaning me
Thanks, or so it seems

...

Yeah, you guys are bad poets...

The put-down, the lay-down, the "I'm giving it all...
...
UP!"

Disappearence into the loner's lost void, just fall lower

&

see if anyone finds you, as you know
no
one
cares;
a pity though,
you did it to yourself.

You did this to yourself,
so don't blame me babe.
It's not my fault
she believed

It's not my fault you took the opportunity
like a falcon taking flight
quick and immediately,
without much thought of consequences or who might be hurt in the proccess.

She rode horses in the day,
Watched the stars at night,
Shielded by an oblivious veil
But now she sits today
Wondering why she's not okay
And why she never got those letters in the mail
Need reviews?
I'd be happy to give them.
