Through the years I've waited. Thinking it would happen when it was meant to.
I had always considered myself patient, but then I met you.

At first you seemed like every other guy, cute yes, but that was all.
Then one day, your eyes caught mine. When you smiled I started to fall.

Then every time I saw you, that feeling did nothing but grow.
But I also felt silly, and foolish and I refused to tell you so.

Instead I kept silent, and confided only to my friends.
In the mean time, I didn't realize my hopes were coming to an end.

Now you care for someone else and I have only myself to blame.
I like to think my silence was smart, for I doubt you would have felt the same.

So here I am still waiting for love, but now I'm not sure of what to do.
Now the waiting is different, and it's all because of you.

I thought this was a really great poem. Your rhymes were consistently good. I thought the story was very relatable and I could connect to the message. Thanks for sharing!
Life is not about how you sing in the sun, it is about how you dance in the rain.

In a way this is quite a simple poem, but as others have said, quite true and relatable to many people. I liked it because it had a distinct sense of truth to it, and the entire thing flowed quite well. There's only one thing I want to point out:

Now the waiting is different, and it's all because if you.

That should be because of you. ;) But I'm pretty sure that's just a typing error, and other than for that everything seems to flow pretty well.

Keep writing,

Simple. There was nothing overwhelmingly profound about the poem, but perhaps it is the simplicity that makes it so. The thing I liked was how true this was. It was so easily read, and everyone could understand it. Sure, it's not flowery, the vocabulary is normal, but I think that's what I like about this. I just wish you would elaborate the emotions instead of just saying them so blankly, but that's the thing about these things; just do whatever :D

Too often we crave the extraordinary in life, without even learning how to cherish the ordinary first. Friend, I promise you this: if you can learn to take joy in the simple mundane things in life, the extraordinary will take care of itself, it'll be on its way, hurrying towards you. But if you skip the first part, it'll ever evade you.
